Final Reminder: Mt. Vernon Senior Fair Happening Tomorrow, August 6

MT. VERNON – State Representative Dave Severin (R-Benton) and State Senator Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) are inviting area seniors to attend a free Senior Health & Wellness Fair on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the Rolland Lewis Building in Mt. Vernon. The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

The fair will feature a variety of local healthcare providers, community organizations, and senior service agencies offering free health screenings, wellness resources, and information about programs available to older adults throughout Southern Illinois.

“Our annual Senior Health & Wellness Fair is a great opportunity for seniors to access valuable resources in one convenient location while also visiting with the organizations that serve our communities every day,” Rep. Severin said. “I’m grateful to once again partner with Senator Bryant to help connect our seniors with important services, answer questions, and make sure they know we’re working on their behalf.”

“Our seniors have spent their lives strengthening our communities, and they deserve access to the information and services that help them stay healthy and independent,” Sen. Bryant said. “This event brings together trusted local organizations in one place, making it easy for seniors and their families to learn about available resources, receive free screenings, and visit with their state legislators.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to register for door prizes donated by participating vendors. Complimentary donuts, fruit, juice, and coffee will also be available while supplies last.
