Rep. Severin Says Road Grant Funding Coming to Franklin and Williamson Counties

BENTON – 117th District State Representative Dave Severin (R-Benton) announced this week that the Illinois Department of Transportation is awarding road grant funding for two projects.

IDOT announced this week that $250,000 of a total expected $750,000 is being released to Williamson County for construction work on Thompsonville and Corinth Roads. Also, Franklin County will receive $318,500 of a total $800,000 for road construction work on Rte. 148 and Rte. 14 in Christopher.

“Road construction dollars benefit working folks and businesses alike,” Severin said. “We will continue to work to bring the rest of the dollars to the 117th district for these vital construction projects. The Rebuild Illinois program will mean new and improved infrastructure, good paying jobs, and improved transportation systems throughout Illinois.”

Last month, the Illinois Department of Transportation provided the third of six $250 million installments to local governments as part of the six-year, $33.2 billion capital program.
