Severin Announces OSLAD Grant Funds Coming to Christopher

BENTON – State Representative Dave Severin recently announced the State of Illinois has awarded more than a quarter of a million dollars in Open Space Land Acquisition and Development Grant (OSLAD) funding to the city of Christopher for the purpose of renovating the city park.

“OSLAD Grant funding made available by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources is used to cover half of the total cost of local projects, with the other half coming from local matching funds,” Severin said. “IDNR recently notified my office that $253,000 is being awarded to Christopher for their city park renovation project. I am always thrilled when Southern Illinois communities receive these much deserved dollars for worthy projects.”

OSLAD is a grant program that was established in 1982, is funded through a portion of the Real Estate Transfer Tax, and is administered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
