SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – State Representative Dave Severin (R-Benton) says he was honored and moved during his attendance at Memorial Day services held in Bluford and Mt. Vernon on Memorial Day. Severin thanked mayors and city staffs for making the services so special.
“Memorial Day is a solemn time of reflection in America, as we stop to honor those who have paid the ultimate price in defense of our nation and our freedom,” Severin said. “We owe it to the brave men and women who have served and died to keep our country the greatest in the world. I am grateful to all towns and counties in the 116th district for putting on touching, appropriate, and memorable ceremonies honoring our nation’s fallen heroes.”
