MT. VERNON, IL – State Representative Dave Severin will host a special night of celebration for the members of his “Oceans of Possibility” 2024 Summer Reading Club on Tuesday, August 6 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Mt. Vernon Aquatic Zoo. Rep. Severin has provided the following details for parents/guardians in advance of the event.
Dear Parents/Guardians,
The purpose of this message is to provide you with details ahead of the Tuesday, August 6th Summer Reading Club Aquatic Zoo event sponsored by State Representative Dave Severin. First, thank you to you and your student for participating in this year’s summer reading club! I am looking forward to meeting your student, getting a picture with them, and providing them with their official Certificate of Congratulations from the Illinois House of Representatives – and then, it will be time to swim!
The whole family is invited to attend along with your summer reader. That means mom, dad, brothers, and sisters are all invited to attend. Here are the details you need to know and the schedule of events for the evening.
Where: Mt. Vernon Aquatic Zoo Water Park, 1700 34th St, Mt Vernon, IL 62864
When: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM – Doors open promptly at 6:30 PM
- Students will be asked to line up with their parents to get their picture taken and receive their certificates of congratulations at the start of the event. After that, students will be free to enjoy the Aquatic Zoo!
Attached to this email is a flyer from the Mt. Vernon Aquatic Zoo that lays out the rules of the facility. There are several important factors to consider, including:
- No outside food or drink is allowed.
- No large floatation devices are allowed. This excludes water wings/floaties/life jackets for students who use those in the pool.
- Children under the age of 16 years old must be accompanied and actively supervised by an adult aged 18 or older.
We are looking forward to a big crowd and a lot of fun. The favor of an RSVP is requested by close of business on Monday, August 5th. You may email me back at Severin@ILHouseGOP.org or call one of my offices with the number of people that you expect will be in your party at the event.
