Rep. Severin: Secretary of State Extends International Registration Plan Deadline to April 18

BENTON, IL – State Representative Dave Severin (R-Benton) is reminding farm and commercial truck drivers and businesses of a deadline extension provided by the Illinois Secretary of State for truck registration. Due to staffing issues, the Secretary of State’s office extended the registration deadline for farm and commercial trucks to April 18, 2025.

“Last weekend I worked very closely with truck drivers and the Illinois Secretary of State’s office to understand and address an issue of great importance to our farmers and truck driving industry,” Severin said. “I am grateful to the Secretary of State’s office for extending the registration deadline for these vehicles and for urging law enforcement to refrain from writing tickets for expired registrations until the deadline extension has ended,” Severid said. “This outcome means our farmers and truck-driving businesses will be protected as they work to get their vehicles registered.”
