SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Representative Dave Severin (R-Benton) joined FFA students from Mt. Vernon High School as part of Future Farmer’s of America’s annual Agriculture Day lobbying event at the State Capitol in Springfield this week. Severin underscored the importance of agriculture as Illinois’ number one industry, and thanked students and teachers for their efforts to support ag in the classroom.
“I am always amazed at the level of hard work and character displayed by FFA students during their annual Ag Day in Springfield,” Severin said. “Each year, I meet with students and teachers who value agriculture, work to promote it, and make the future brighter for the ag industry in our state. I am grateful to every farmer, ag student, and ag teacher for their invaluable work supporting agriculture!”
