MARION, IL – State Representative Dave Severin (R-Benton) joined Tom Miller on WJPF’s Morning Newswatch. Rep. Severin had the following to say about the interview.
“It was great to be on Newsradio WJPF this morning to talk about all things budget and end of session. As you probably know by now, Democrats voted for over $1 billion in tax hikes, fee increases, and borrowing from special funds to pay for what will be a record spending budget. They also raised their own pay and slipped in hundreds of millions of dollars in pork projects for Democratic districts. Speaker Welch put a line item in the budget of FORTY MILLION DOLLARS to build a sports complex at his alma mater high school, skipping the line and leaving schools that have been waiting for construction dollars for years. I VOTED NO.”
