Rep. Severin Welcomes Cole Buchanan of Benton as “Page for a Day” to Illinois House

SPRINGFIELD – 116th District State Representative Dave Severin (R-Benton) welcomed Benton High School Sophomore Cole Buchanan to the Illinois House to serve as a “Page for a Day” on Tuesday, March 14th. Rep. Severin welcomed Cole and his family to the House floor and gallery.

“Cole Buchanan has built a long resume of successful work both in and out of the classroom, and as a fellow Benton Ranger, I was more than happy to welcome him to serve as a Page for a Day in the Illinois House of Representatives,” Severin said. “I am always glad to welcome students from across my district to serve in the House, to learn about the process, and to enjoy the day at their Capitol with their families.”

Cole, a sophomore at Benton High School, is the son of Chad and Lori Buchanan of Benton. He is active in Student Council, Youth and Government, Scholar Bowl, Band, Drafting Team, Cross Country and Track. Cole is the IL Association of Student Councils’ 1st Vice President, the IL Youth and Government Secretary of State, and earned All State Cross Country honors after finishing 15th place at the IHSA state cross country meet in 2022.
