BENTON – State Rep. Dave Severin (R-Benton) is reminding district residents of an opportunity to nominate a local firefighter for the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s “Firefighting Medal of Honor”.
The Firefighting Medal of Honor application period is now open. All applications are due by February 1, 2024. The review will place emphasis and priority on the consideration of firefighters who have been killed or seriously injured in the line of duty and those who have displayed exceptional bravery or heroism while performing their duties as a firefighter.
