BENTON – State Representative Dave Severin has been a small business owner for most of his adult life. Severin is reminding district 116 residents who are able to, “Shop Local”, on the occasion of “National Small Business Week”.
“Owning and operating a small business is a challenge, especially in a state like Illinois. I know this first-hand, as I have owned my own small businesses for more than 20 years now,” Severin said. “On this National Small Business Week” in America, I want to encourage anyone that is able to shop locally. When we shop local, our money stays in our communities where we can control how it gets spent. I am thankful to anyone that has taken the great leap of faith to open their own small business and want to encourage everyone to shop local not only on Small Business Week, but every week.”
National Small Business Week has been celebrated for more than 50 years in America. To learn more about National Small Business Week visit www.sba.gov/national-small-business-week.
