BENTON, IL – State Representative Dave Severin is reminding local professionals whose professional license is set to expire to engage with the Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulation as soon as possible. Licenses for a large number of professions are set to expire on September 30, 2024.
“My advice to folks in the 116th district who are working in impacted professions is to get to work early on making sure your license is renewed and your job is protected,” Severin said. “Although there have been some improvements to delays in professional licensure, there is no time to waste between now and the deadline. Take action, and get your license renewed.”
Severin reports that several professionals, such as accountants, physical therapists, psychologists, and cosmetic and esthetician teachers, have licenses that will expire on September 30, 2024. Individuals can learn more about the process and get the paperwork that they need to renew their license by visiting the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation’s website at https://idfpr.illinois.gov/renewals/defaultssl.html.
“I have been in close coordination with the House Republican Leader Tony McCombie and with leadership at IDFPR to improve outcomes and lower delay times for license renewals dating back to the beginning of this General Assembly,” Severin said. “I’m letting people know now that we have more work to do, but things are improving. With shortages in our workforces already a problem throughout the state, we cannot allow folks with critically important jobs to lose their licenses. Get on the website and get your paperwork turned in early to ensure your license doesn’t expire and that your job and livelihood are protected.”
