Rep. Severin Earns 100% Rating with Technology & Manufacturing Association

BENTON, IL – State Rep. Dave Severin is one of only 32 members of the Illinois General Assembly to have earned a 100% rating with the Illinois Technology & Manufacturing Association, according to the newly released 2023 Legislative Scorecard provided by the TMA.

Severin says the designation comes after he voted with the TMA for and against seven legislative measures that TMA supported or opposed.

“The Technology & Manufacturing Association tracks legislation that is both good and bad for small and midsize manufacturers,” Severin said. “I’m a small business owner, and I have consistently stood with our small and midsize businesses and employers during my time in Springfield.”

According to a press release from TMA, their 2023 Legislative Scorecard tracked lawmakers’ votes on HB3129 (Mandated Pay Scale Posting), HB1122 (Freelance Worker Protection Act), HB2862 (Temporary Labor Services Act), HB219 (Punitive Damages—Wrongful Death Lawsuits), HB2473 (Nuclear Energy), HB218 (Deceptive Practices with Firearms), and SB1996 (Manufacturing Mentorship Program).

“In Illinois, our small and midsize manufacturers and other small businesses are often the target of legislation that harms their bottom line, and increases already burdensome regulations on them,” Severin said. “I am thankful for the TMA and the efforts they make to lower taxes, improve education, reduce regulation, and ultimately keep employers in Illinois instead of chasing them away.”
